Bowling with The Beachy's & The Oddi's

What fun we had bowling tonight. 12 of us in all and we all bowled 3 games. The kids all bowled on one lane and then the adults on the other. Ryan bowled with the adults and the married couples bowled in team alternating frames. The Beachy's pulled out the first game and Marsha and I won the second two. Including a 197 the second game (not bad for not bowling for a number of years, I may have not since Griffin was born!) We all agreed that it was a blast and want to do it again. Now to bed to get ready for Super Sunday and Cameron's hoops game!

Lakers vs Bucks 1/31/09

Griffin and his Lakers were back in action today against the Bucks. Griffin was really active on the boards and had two baskets today! Great job Griff!

St Matthew vs St Andrew 1/31/09

A great matchup of two one loss teams. St Matthew played great 4th quarter defense and were led by Blaine's 13 points for a 22-21 win. Cameron was given the task of shadowing #4 from St Andrew in the 4th quater and shut him down. He was on fire in the 3rd and Cameron knew what kind of gum he was chewing by the end of the 4th. The Mustangs go to 6-1. Another game tomorrow against another good team in St Paul at 5:00.

Busy Weekend

Two basketball games Saturday. Camerons's indoor baseball practice, and bowling with the Beachy's and Oddi's. Cameron has another basketball game on Sunday and oh yeah. Some football game the Steelers have!!

St Matthew vs St Timothy 1/25/09

The Mustangs win another one! They pulled out a 26-18 victory today over St Timothy (or as I called them St Timmaaaaaaaaay). Six of the eight kids scored. Cameron chipped in 1 point and continues to take much better care of the ball running the point. St Matts ups their record to 5-1. 2 Games next weekend (one Saturday and one Sunday).

St Matthew Tourney Team

St Matthew has 4 4th grade teams. 17 kids wanted to play in a tournament at the Hoop starting on MLK Jr day. Two teams were entered. Both of the teams lost both games on Monday (Cameron had 2 points the first game and 4 the second game). Found out when we arrived that it was all travel teams in this tournament. The boys all practiced togther one day (Sunday) before starting this the next day. 9 teams were entered in the 4th grade level. Cameron's team finished 8th and the other St Matthew team 9th. They play each other tonight, loser is done, the winner gets the number 1 seed. Here are some photos from Monday.

St Matthew vs Delaware St Mary's

The Mustangs keep on rolling. A hard fought, and physical (thanks to the refs forgetting what their whistles were for) game for St Matthew. They pulled out a 22-14 win. Cameron had 2 rebounds and 3 steals. The win ups their record to 4-1. Next up St Timothy at 3:00 Sunday 1/25.

Lakers Vs Celtics 1/17/09

Griffin had his first game today as his Lakers took on the Celtics. He pulled down a few boards but failed to score. They do not keep score in his games (but if you ask him, they won 11-7 :P). I was unable to see the game due to Cameron's baseball team begining indoor practice at the same time. The boys hustled in the drills and it was great to be doing baseball things again! Cheese And Rice It Is Cold!

Nice crisp -10 degrees with a wind chill of -25 this morning. No school for the boys so they had to go with me to see the surgeon (again). Good news is the ankle is good structurally. Bad news is he just thinks it is going to take a while to get back to normal (I guess 13 months is not a while). At least I don't have to go under the knife again! For now, we are just staying indoors and waiting for basketball and indoor baseball practice over the weekend. Marsha plans on getting some pictures of Griffin's first game tomorrow to post. Go Lakers!

More Ankle Joys

Had another MRI on my bionic ankle that will not heal. I have looked at the CD and it looks like an ultrasound (No I am not pregnant). I will find out more on Friday.

St Matthew vs St Michael

Another great defensive effort by the Mustangs! Passing is improving every game and they are hitting the boards! A great team effort today led to a 22-9 win and a 3-1 record. Next week it's back at St Paul against Delaware St Mary.

Playoff Time!

Griffin is a Laker

Griffin had his first basketball practice this morning (at 8:00am yuk!). He was able to come with Lakers gear on (Wore Cameron's Lakers shirt he wore in 1st grade). There are 10 boys on the team. Griffin is very happy that his buddies Evan Wolf and Tyler Jones are on his team again. First game (with pictures) next Saturday against the Celtics!

St Matthew White vs St Brendan Green 1/4/09

St Matthew White got back on the court today looking to get back on the winning side of the ledger. The Mustangs did a much better job on the boards. Final score St Matthew 27 St Brendan 11. Patrick led the way with 12 points. Cameron got some shots to drop finally pitching in with 6 points on some nice outside shooting. Blaine checked in with 5 points, and Jared added 4 points. A great win that moves the Mustangs record to 2-1.
